Alexander Kim, MD, DDS, FACS
After receiving his baccalaureate from the University of California at Irvine, Dr. Kim headed to New York City and obtained his D.D.S. from Columbia University before returning west to receive his M.D. from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. His surgical training was then completed at Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center, one of the largest and busiest teaching hospitals in the country. Dr. Kim is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Kim provided comprehensive surgical care at one of the largest integrated healthcare systems in San Diego for more than a decade. He has extensive experience in the complex management of cleft and craniofacial deformities, facial trauma, implants, reconstruction, and corrective face and jaw surgery. He also has a special interest in minimally invasive cosmetic surgery.
Deeply passionate about education, Dr. Kim has been involved with the training of Head and Neck Surgery residents from both the Navy and University of California at San Diego as well as the next generation of doctors at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Adams School of Dentistry where he served as a Clinical Adjunct Assistant Professor. He is dedicated to staying current with the latest technological and surgical advancements which allow him to keep his practice on the cutting edge of the specialty.
When not at work, Dr. Kim is happy to be spending time with his rambunctious kids and exploring events around his home. His personal interests include classic rock and cinema, muscle cars and coffee, and playing his guitar whenever he can.
